As a graduate of Avara’s Academy of Hair Design, Wade merged his knowledge and talents to perfect the art of cutting and styling hair. With determination and faith, Wade set out to become an entrepreneur and strategically mapped out the opening of his first barber salon.
Wade established “The W Hair Loft” in 2011 in downtown Glen Burnie, Maryland and three years later opened his second location in The Prince George’s County Gateway Arts District of Maryland; Hyattsville. His skills reverberated throughout the community and across the country. With signature cuts and unmatched hair designs, he received the attention of many, landing him corporate clienteles including Walmart and McDonalds, TV and magazine appearances, opportunities to work on the set of TV shows and movies, not to mention he’s cut many of your favorite celebrity’s hair.
Although being successful in many areas of his life, Wade wanted to do more to help people. He wanted to build on devoting his time and talents to those in need beyond the outer appearance. Taking a holistic approach, not only helping people externally but investing in the internal being helped further his vision of enrichment. Growing up and maintaining his commitment to the community made him aware of the many societal barriers. Wade worked tirelessly to provide alternatives for the youth, for the homeless and others in need. He has made a commitment to continue impacting the community now with the Wade H. Menendez Foundation.
Growing up with a Christian background, Wade says “one can succeed at anything he or she puts their mind to despite challenges. Follow your passion, give your best each time, remain humble and full of integrity, and I believe one will do well in life.”
